History

In 2001, Kelly Jorgensen fenced off about a third of the block in front of her Mead Café restaurant and began the tradition of the Boil n Boogie, with the emphasis being on the Boil.  She repeated the event thru 2004.  In 2005, with the event growing and being difficult for one business owner to mange, Kelly asked if the Chamber would take over the event.  The Chamber managed it in 2005.  In 2006 the Chamber decided to put the focus on the Boogie part of the event by emphasizing the entertainment portion and creating a true concert experience.  So what started with a couple hundred locals getting together for boiled crawfish, has become a significant event, drawing attendees from all over the front range.  The crawfish is still great, and the entertainment has escalated to presenting musicians who have opened for the biggest bands in the country.
